Seller Never Shipped
I bought a WII for $250
never received nothing, did a claim through paypal saying I didnt get it,so he sends a package and give paypal a tracking #
I get the package its just packing foam
I told paypal about it.
2 days later paypal said I dont get my money back because he sent me something.
I even sent paypal pics of the package I got from him
Comment: This person failed to mention that they filed a complaint and selected the wrong option which caused their claim to be automatically denied. They needed to select the significantly not as described option. They did not read the instructions or the PayPal policy before filing their complaint.

Jeans Scam
A guy form Argentina bought two pairs of designer jeans from me in January and two days ago he reversed the transaction! $300!! I am so mad!! I don't know why the hell it says seller protection is not eligible since the address is confirmed (says in GREEN letter). I shipped the jeans via USPS Global Express and have checked the tracking numbers. IT SAYS THE ITEM HAS BEEN ARRIVED THERE.
Thank you for your help!!
Comment: As long as you have proof of delivery, you can expect PayPal to find in your favor plus you shipped to a confirmed address which is a double whammy against the crook buyer. IF you are dealing with certain countries!!! You see, that is the problem here, you shipped to Argentina and PayPal's policy clearly says that their policy only covers certain countries like the US, Canada, most of Europe, Australia, etc. It does NOT cover Argentina. I hate to break it to you, but this is a 3rd world country and fraud is rampant. PayPal may still side in your favor, I dont know all of the details. I would suggest reading over the PayPal policy again and just dont ship to any country where you do not have PayPal protection. If the buyer really wants the item, let them send a Western Union or an international money order.

I was Hijacked but still dont know it
I was on vacation and came back to find an email from paypal saying there had been unauthorised access on my account and that the had frozen it. I then followed the steps to take the limit off and everything was fine until a few days later a got a letter from the bank saying paypal had tryed to take a direct debit for 716.00 i knew nothing about this checked my account and this payment had been put through to a guy called *******@yahoo.com i knew nothing about him contacted paypal they told me to file a dispute which i did. I then told my bank who advised me to close my current bank account and re-open a new one. I then get an email from paypal about a failed transaction as i stopped the direct debit now i have a negative payapl balance of like 700 and im worried and need some advice. Any help would be really appreciated guys! Thanks
Comment: You never received any email from PayPal saying there was an unauthorized access attempt on your account. No, you really didnt. That was a fake email from the scammer. When you clicked the link in the email, it went to a fake site and you gave the crook your PayPal password and who knows what other information. Then you complained to your bank but you never changed your password so the crook still had access to your account and continued trying to steal money by transferring it from the bank account you have associated with your account. Here is what really happened: A crook sent you a fake email, you went to the crooks website and gave away your password, the crook tried to use your account, your bank was irresponsible for not telling you that your account was hijacked because it was quite obvious and you should have changed your password immediately and then filed a complaint at PayPal by using the dispute console when something looked strange. The lesson here is 1. Never enter your PayPal or eBay password into a website that is not the real one, and 2. You should have used MyLittleMole.com's toolbar which would have warned you before you gave the crook your password.

Reversal on iPod
Right... I sold an ipod on december 29th. It was a buy it now on ebay. The buyer contacted me prior to the buy and asked me if I could have it delivered the next day (a Saturday). I said okay but it would be 2.00 extra. So he agreed and bought and paid for the item.
He sent me two paypal payments, one for 235.98 for the ipod and the delivery charge I stated in the auction.
Then another one minutes later for 10.00 for Saturday delivery (even though I only said 2).
On the ebay e-mail which says "your item has sold". The address listed was for Tim.
On the first paypal payment the address was Tim although this was an unconfirmed address. At the bottom of the email it said
"Important Note: Mark _____ has provided an Unconfirmed Address." etc.
The second paypal payment, from the SAME e-mail address as the first one had the postal address as Mark ____ (a confirmed address)....
Comment: First off, anyone who sends multiple payments, especially from different PayPal accounts or even from the same account is a crook. They will never make two payments. Sometimes crooks do this so they can file a refund later. The seller can only prove delivery for one of the transactions and not for the second so the crook gets half his money back. Crooks often want items shipped to them fast. This way they can pickup the item before the transaction is reversed on their stolen PayPal account. If you had shipped by UPS ground, you could have recalled the package if the transaction was reversed while the item was still in transit. Also, it should have been obvious this was a scam when you saw the person was using two different names. This was obviously a hijacked PayPal account.

Bad Sellers, Maybe Not
So, I bid for a motherboard on eBay and win it at a super low price from a guy in China. I pay straight away through PayPal. A few days later I get an email from eBay telling me that the seller is making unauthorised use of someone elses account and that the auction has been cancelled etc. etc. The advice is to claim the money back through PayPal. Anyhow, I start the claims process and start to feel sorry for myself at being ripped off. Only, the thing is, I hadn't. One day last week a parcel arrived with my order. I cancelled the claim immediately. But now I'm thinking that some poor sod in China has probably got all their funds frozen.
Comment: This sounds like the person in China was a legitimate seller who had their account hijacked. There are ways to tell if an account has been hijacked but you have to look for them. You were lucky in that you actually bought and paid the real seller and received what you ordered. Apparently there were other auctions running under this seller's id that were not really his aucitons which people did not receive anything for(if his eBay account was hijacked) or money was transferred out of his PayPal account if his PayPal account was the account that was hijacked. You have to pay attention and research a seller before making a purchase. I am glad you received what you paid for though.

CCard Chargeback against PayPal
I bought a laptop and never received it. I paid through paypal and funded it with my credit card so I filed for a reversal on my credit card. Now paypal has frozen my account.
Comment: If you wanted the protection of using a credit card, you should have used a credit card to pay the seller directly. You have committed fraud by reversing the charge for PayPal because PayPal did credit the money to your account just as you requested. What happened to it after that has nothing to do with the credit card company. If you went to a local retail store and bought a laptop with your credit card and someone stole it out of your car in the parking lot, would you file a reversal on your card against the store that sold it to you? Your complaint was not with PayPal, it was with the seller. You should have taken advantage of PayPal's protection policy and filed a dispute through PayPal. When you funded your PayPal account using a credit card, you legally agreed not to file a credit card chargeback and to handle any disputes through PayPal. You should have read the information you were shown before clicking OK, also you should have read the PayPal policy before filing for a credit card chargeback. There is not much that can be done now that you have already filed a chargeback. You can cancel the chargeback which is what you should do, but PayPal may not enable your account again. Next time read the PayPal policy first.
